Project Overview:
Murder Mubarak is a thrilling murder mystery based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel. With a star-studded cast and high anticipation, this campaign focused on maximizing publicity and media coverage through a series of impactful events, strategic media engagements, and unique content opportunities.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Title, Cast & Release Date Announcement:
On February 5th, we launched the title, cast, and release date, generating a major buzz. The teaser introduced seven suspects, creating a must-watch aura around the film. This initial reveal positioned Murder Mubarak as one of Netflix's most anticipated thrillers. - Trailer Launch Event:
Held on March 5th at Snowball Studios, Worli, the trailer launch was an immersive experience where guests participated in a thematic game of tambola that introduced the cast. The event highlighted the film’s stylish setting and its strong connection to its story, attended by industry stalwarts, ensuring top-tier media coverage. - HT – Stars in The City Event:
We organized a fan interaction with Hindustan Times’ popular IP, Stars in The City, held for the first time in Mumbai as part of HT City’s 25th anniversary celebration. The live-streamed event allowed 70 fans to directly engage with the cast, boosting audience connection and anticipation for the film. - Cyrus Says Podcast:
Director Homi Adajania featured in the Cyrus Says podcast, humorously discussing the film and offering insights into the characters and the film's setting in a Delhi gymkhana. This podcast added depth to the publicity strategy, providing a platform to explore behind-the-scenes stories and engage audiences with humor and intrigue. - Junket Interviews:
A creatively staged junket interview day transformed the setup into an investigation scene where journalists played detectives and the cast portrayed suspects. This interactive format engaged major media outlets like Film Companion, Bollywood Hungama, The Quint, and IMDb, resulting in extensive coverage across platforms. - Media Relations & Coverage:
The campaign generated 1000+ coverages across print, online, broadcast, and social media platforms, positioning Murder Mubarak as a major cinematic event. - Financial Management:
Managed a detailed finance tracker for cast expenses including their entourage costs (makeup, styling, transport). The multi-cast nature of the film required intricate coordination of purchase orders and invoices.
Results:
The Murder Mubarak campaign was a massive success with over 1000 media coverages, building tremendous anticipation before the release, and solidifying its position as one of Netflix’s most anticipated films of 2024.
